(Uganda Bureau of Statistics, 2021)
I have had the opportunity to connect with Alice Bates who found me through a powerful blog written by Sandra Reddish highlighting the work we do in the field of domestic violence here in Uganda. Sandra and I spoke via Zoom, where I shared shocking statistics and the harsh realities many women face every day.
She went on to author a deeply insightful book titled “ONE IN FOUR WOMEN: Understanding Men’s Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women.” This book sheds light on the patterns, psychology, and impact of domestic abuse, and I highly recommend it to everyone—advocates, professionals, and anyone seeking to understand and support survivors.
A heartfelt thank you to Sandra for my copy, kindly delivered through Alice. It was well received and is already proving to be an invaluable resource.
Let’s continue the conversation, raise awareness, and stand together in the fight against domestic violence.
